Retirement rules

A player retiring mid-match is common in tennis, and bookmakers settle such bets differently: some void match-winner bets if a set is not completed, others settle once the first set is finished. The rule is in the bookmaker's settlement terms and can decide whether your bet wins, loses or is returned.

Tennis bets and minimum odds

Many tennis matches have a heavy favourite at short odds. Illustrative example, not a Doxxbet term. With a bonus minimum of 1.70, a bet on a 1.25 favourite counts nothing; a game-handicap bet on the same match at 1.85 does count. Players chasing a wagering target sometimes switch markets just to meet the minimum. Ask yourself whether you would place that bet without the bonus.

Fast in-play markets

Point-by-point and next-game markets settle within minutes, which makes it easy to place many small bets quickly. That speed helps a wagering counter move — and makes losses add up faster. If a bonus accepts in-play bets, set a stake and a number of bets in advance.

Free bets and boosted odds in tennis

Free bets work as in other sports: usually only the profit is paid. Boosted odds on a match winner are often limited to a small maximum stake. Read the conditions before you build a ticket around a promotion.

Tennis in accumulators

Combining several short-priced tennis favourites is a common way to reach bonus minimum odds. It looks safe and is not: one upset or one retirement voids or loses the ticket. Our page on bet types explains how accumulators are counted.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to my tennis bet if a player retires?
It depends on the bookmaker's settlement rules; some void the bet, others settle it after the first completed set.
Do short-priced tennis favourites count towards a bonus?
Only if their odds meet the offer's minimum. Many favourites are priced below it.
Are in-play tennis bets allowed with a bonus?
That depends on the offer. Some include in-play bets, others exclude them.
