Self-exclusion: the RVO register step by step

Self-exclusion is the strongest tool a player has: a formal entry that stops licensed operators from letting you play. In Slovakia it runs through the Register vylúčených osôb (RVO), administered by the regulator ÚRHH. Licensed operators — including any licensed brand such as Doxxbet — must check every login against it. This page explains the procedure as published by ÚRHH.

Who can apply

Any person over 18 can apply, but only for themselves. A family member or partner cannot enter someone else in the register.

How to apply

  1. Download the request form for entry into RVO from the ÚRHH website.
  2. Fill it in and sign it with an officially certified signature — at a notary or a registry office (matrika).
  3. Send it by post to ÚRHH, Križkova 9, 811 04 Bratislava — or electronically through slovensko.sk with a qualified electronic signature.
  4. Do not send it by ordinary e-mail: requests by e-mail are not accepted.

ÚRHH accepts only signed requests that are no older than three months. Entry is usually made within three working days of delivery; no confirmation is sent.

What the entry covers

The entry applies to gaming halls, casinos, sports betting, and online casinos and gaming halls (§ 33(2) of Act No. 30/2019). Licensed online operators check the register at every login, so an entry blocks access to accounts at all of them.

How long it lasts

The law sets no fixed duration. Removal can be requested no earlier than six months after entry (§ 34(7)), and removal is usually processed within seven working days. Phrases you may see elsewhere — “self-exclusion for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years” — do not reflect the Slovak rule.

Questions about RVO

The RVO information line is 0800 127 000, Monday to Friday 9:00–14:00, and the e-mail address for enquiries is rvo@urhh.sk. According to ÚRHH, 20,544 people were self-excluded at the end of May 2025, up from 5,871 in May 2020.

Self-exclusion and bonuses

Unused bonuses, loyalty points and pending promotions are usually lost when you self-exclude or close an account. That is not a reason to delay: if you are considering self-exclusion, the protection matters more than any balance. Withdraw what you can, then apply. Illustrative example, not a Doxxbet term. A loyalty balance of 2,000 points worth €2 is not worth a week of play you did not want.

Outside Slovakia

RVO applies to operators licensed in Slovakia. If you play elsewhere, ask the operator about its own exclusion tools and your country's register if one exists. Free online support is available from Gambling Therapy.

Further help

The Linka pomoci pre problémy s hraním, 0800 131 000, is free, anonymous and available 24/7, and about 41% of its calls in 2025 concerned RVO. More tools are described on our responsible gambling page.
